Your retainer is an important part of completing your orthodontic work, so take care of it and it will take care of you. Regardless of whether it's made of acrylic and wire or thermoplastic, the process for cleaning your retainer should be pretty much the same.

Here is a simple and safe "Do It Yourself" Home Remedy to cleaning your retainers.

Please follow the steps and let us know how it worked for you!

1.) In a cup mix WHITE VINEGAR and WARM WATER. (Never Hot!)

2.) Soak Retainers in the vinegar mix for 30 minutes.

Now that you have braces you’re probably thinking dental visits are not necessary since you’re seeing Dr. Babaeian for orthodontic treatment.

Here are 3 reasons why it’s important to keep up with your regular dental visits in addition to coming in for orhtodontic treatment.

Having braces provides more places for food and bacteria to hide. Eventually, plaque and tartar can form around your brackets, bands or other orthodontic appliances which can lead to cavities. Having your teeth regularly cleaned by your dentist can help ensure most, if not all, plaque and tartar is removed. Even if you are undergoing clear aligner treatment (Invisalign) dental checkups and cleanings are equally as important.

2. Protecting your teeth from decalcification, or the loss of calcium in your teeth.

MAKING THE FIRST DAY EASIER

Remind your child that there are probably a lot of students who are uneasy about the first day of school. This may be at any age. Teachers know that students are nervous and will make an extra effort to make sure everyone feels as comfortable as possible. Point out the positive aspects of starting school.  She'll see old friends and meet new ones. Refresh her positive memories about previous years, when she may have returned home after the first day with high spirits because she had a good time. Find another child in the neighborhood with whom your student can walk to school or ride on the bus. If it is a new school for your child, attend any available orientations and take an opportunity to tour the school before the...

Here’s how it works: We use the Itero digital scanner to take an 8-10 minute scan of your mouth. After the Itero scanner captures the digital, impression-free...

Did you know that The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has designated the month of March for focusing the public's awareness on what to eat?

Take a look at our Top 9 Foods That Damage Your Teeth.

1. What you eat matters While these hard candies seem harmless, eat too many and the constant exposure to sugar can be harmful to your teeth. Hard candies also put your teeth at risk because in addition to being full of sugar, they can also trigger a dental emergency such as a broken or chipped tooth. Better alternative? Chew sugarless gum that carries the ADA Seal.

2. Ice is for chilling, not chewing You’d be surprised at how many people think ice is good for their teeth. It’s made of water, after all, and doesn’t contain any sugar or other additives. But chewing on hard substances can leave your teeth vulnerable to a dental emergency...
